Summary

[edit]
Description
English: A striking pink flower that grows to 600mm October to December on the South Coast of Western Australia.

Stylidium plants have an irritable "trigger" which moves below the flower until an insect lands on the petals. The "trigger" pats pollen on the back or under the front of the insect. The insect flies onto another plant, gets another pat on the back, thus pollinating the plants. The trigger resets itself after each visit.
