Description |
English: A copper alloy Roman pin. It is incomplete due to old breaks. The pin has a conical head with a groove below it. The head is decorated with four incised lines which radiate from the point, and four sets of two parallel grooves at right angles to the radiating lines, forming a square shape. the shaft is circular in section and tapers from 2.62mm in thickness near the head to 1.97mm at its broken terminal. The pin measures 7.67mm in diameter and 47.72mm in surviving length. It weighs 2.79g. It is similar to Cool's group 10 ( Fig 6: 9) but not identical. |
