Description
Deutsch: Der 'Mäuseturm' im Hengsteysee, ehemals Teil des Anwesens Niedernhof in Herdecke. Er befindet sich auf Hagener Stadtgebiet, denn die kommunale Grenze verläuft, dem alten Lauf der Ruhr folgend, im orographisch durch das Ardeygebirge nach links gekrümmten Hengsteysee dicht am rechten, dem Herdecker Ufer. Der Turm hatte dort ein nicht mehr existentes Pendant. Zwischen beiden Türmen überspannte eine eiserne Hängebrücke die noch nicht aufgestaute Ruhr, was es dem Eigentümer der benacbarten Villa Niedernhof, dem Inhaber einer Hagener Schraubenfabrik, ermöglichte, über diese private Flußquerung seine Firma ohne Umweg zu erreichen.
