Summary

Description
English: From a private collection. It is possible that the date, which is not easy to make out, is 1824 not 1821. Another image, an unfinished pen-and-wash drawing made on the spot on 8 September 1805 by Simone Pomardi with the aid of a camera obscura, is reproduced in [Dodwell and Pomardi] In Search of Classical Greece: Travel Drawings of Edward Dodwell and Simone Pomardi, 1805–1806, the catalogue accompanying an exhibition curated by John Camp with Ian Jenkins and Kim Sloan (London: British Museum, 2013), 187.
