Summary
[edit]DescriptionHackney 2nd railway station (site), Greater London (geograph 4301743).jpg |
English: Hackney 2nd railway station (site), Greater London Opened in 1870 by the North London Railway on the line from North Woolwich and Stratford to Richmond, this station closed in 1944. View east from the 1980-built Hackney Central station towards Homerton and Stratford. The main building still survives on the left, although no longer in railway use, whilst the site of the right hand platform can also clearly be seen from the current station. Beyond the end of the building is the site of Hackney's 1st railway station (1850-1870). No trace of that remains. |
