He then took an extended courseat the University, where he decided to become a great socialreformer. He was now trying to accomplish his purpose bywriting editorials for a magazine. When it was time for my experiences, I was still buildingair castles so my classmates began to part, each one to his ownmission, and as they vanished out of sight my dream faded, the sun had set, and the landscape was darkening. Junior Class History IT does not seem so very long ago since we entered the hallsof Lenoir College on that beautiful morning of September1907. When we entered this grand old College, we werein pursuit of knowledge, and, if we fail, it will not be thefault of our earnest, persistent and patient professors, whohave tried to teach us the principles of Rhetoric, Deutsch, and the Science of the mind. When we were poor littleFreshies, we felt our importance, as all other Freshman do.Before the year was out, we realized that school was notsuch a dreadful place after all, for there were many plea-sures as well as plenty of work. In an other year we wereno longer green Freshmen, but wise Sophomores. Duringour Sophomore year we had plenty of fun, and now we areJuniors! We have only begun to realize what college lifereally is. Though our class is small, you can find girls and boys ofbrains, who are not afraid to study. The Sophomores callus conceited because we are Professor Hartwigs favoriteclas
