| Description |
Field Trip - Parndon Wood - 08/07/11 Not a bad catch at Parndon Wood, which included the expected species of this time of year from an ancient oak woodland. New species for the site included 5 new micro moth species including (big deep breath) Pempelia formosa, Ypsolopha sylvella, Zeiraphera isertana, Acrobasis consociella and a beautifully marked Eudemis profundana. Zeiraphera isertana being completely new for my records. The weather did present issues as it was rather cool and relatively cloud-less so the smaller amount of moths was due to this factor. The catch consisted of 33 Macro moths and 28 Micro moths, giving a total species count of 61 species.
