| Description |
alpine gold, Hulsea algida, White Mountains, Inyo National Forest, elevation 3670 m (12045 ft). Substrate is mixed sediments, mainly sandstone of the Campito Formation (lower Cambrian). Also visible are Beatley clover (Trifolium andersonii subsp. beatleyae), Sierra beardtongue (Penstemon heterodoxus var. heterodoxus), compact phlox (Phlox condensata), and squirreltail (Elymus elymoides). |
