Summary

[edit]
Description

Indeed, in 1891, the painter left for Tangier (Morocco)[2], the opportunity for him to captivate the Moorish essence of Morocco through several paintings of anthropological value, such as here, where the Mansouria (Moroccan female pageantry) is painted. The Mansouria is characterized by wearing a Moroccan Caftan, painted red on the painting, worn underneath a Dfina (or Dafina), which is a transparent open dress.
