Summary

[edit]
Description A private from the Norwegian Heimevernet (Home Guard) Innsatsstyrke (a kind of rapid deployment force) on exercise in Norway during the late winter / early spring 2007. The photo shows him holding a AG-3, which is a Norwegian adaption of the Heckler&Koch G3, fitted with a lightweight bolt for blank firing. The carry gear is the Norwegian CV-1 combat vest. The uniform is a relatively new hi-tech fabric thing, which designation escapes me at the moment. The floppy hat is for patrol duties. This soldier has folded the brim upwards on both sides, presumably to use hearing protection while firing blank rounds. He also carries a Camelbak hydration system.
