DescriptionHM Dockyard Bermuda-Ana Brassey 1883.jpg |
English: Illustration from "In The Trades, the Tropics and The Roaring Forties", by Anna Brassey, Baroness Brassey. Engraved on wood by G. Pearson and J. Cooper after drawings by R. T. Pritchett. First published by Longmans, Green, and Company, London, and H. Holt and Company, New York (1885). The image shows two warships berthed inside the breakwater of the Royal Naval Dockyard at the Imperial fortress colony of Bermuda, and the floating drydock in 1883. Bermuda was the home base of the North America and West Indies Station. Also visible at left is Gibb's Hill Lighthouse. |
