Summary
[edit]DescriptionHMS Penzance and HMS Brocklesby on Op KIPION MOD 45167671.jpg |
English: Pictured (left) is HMS Penzance and HMS Brocklesby photographed from HMS Shoreham off the coast of Bahrain whilst deployed on Op KIPION.
HMS Penzance is Sandown-Class minehunter and HMS Brockles a Hunt-Class. While these two classes of ships are very similar, the Sandown-Class can detect mines at variable depths down to around 200m, whereas the Hunt-Class has a hull mounted wideband sonar which detects and classifies small mines at shallower depths.
