Description
English: Royal Navy aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious proceeds up the River Thames enroute to London for a four day visit in 2008. The QEII suspension bridge between the counties of Essex and Kent can be seen in the background.

HMS Illustrious was visiting the City of London, mooring near the historic Old Royal Naval College at Greenwich. The primary purpose of this visit was to take part in the November ceremonies, including the Lord MayorÕs parade and Remembrance Sunday.
