Description
English: Pictured: The gunnery crew on their way to the guns for the 21 gun salute for the Kings Coronation at HMS Drake in Plymouth.Royal Naval Gunners at HMNB Devonport fired a 21 Gun Salute to mark the Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla, from the Quarterdeck at HMS Drake in Plymouth.During the Service, at the exact moment the St Edward’s Crown was placed on the King’s head, celebratory 21-gun salutes sounded at firing stations across the UK, in Gibraltar, Cyprus and Bermuda, and on deployed Royal Navy ships in tribute to His Majesty.In London, members of the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery fired a six-gun salvo on Horse Guards Parade, using 13 Pounder Quick Fire Howitzers – all of which saw active service in the First and Second World Wars.At the same time The Honourable Artillery Company fired a 62-gun salute at the Tower of London.
