Description
English: HMS 'Bellerophon' (1824) outside the Grand Harbour, Malta
Inscribed: "H.M.S. BELLEROPHON". 'Bellerophon' is shown in starboard broadside view, with her main and topgallant sails clew'd up, outside Malta's Grand Harbour in fairly rough conditions. Fishermen on a rocky crag at bottom left act as a repoussoir. The background presents a detailed view of Valletta. 'Bellerophon' took part in the Syrian operations of 1840 and the Crimean War; she was sold in 1892. Hand-coloured.
