Description
English: Steam engine of the rolling mill of the Maxhütte steelworks (Sulzbach-Rosenberg). It is the smaller one of the two rolling stand drives with 6000/10000 horsepowers, built in 1913 by the locomotive and machines factory J. A. Maffei, Munich. It is a twin tandem compound steam engine with four cylinders and Walschaerts valve gear. Until shutting down the steelworks in September 2002 it was running without any trouble.
Deutsch: Walzenzug-Dampfmaschine der Maxhütte (Sulzbach-Rosenberg). Sie ist die kleinere der beiden Walzenzugmaschinen mit einer Leistung von 6000/10.000 PS, gebaut 1913 durch die Lokomotiv- und Maschinenfabrik J. A. Maffei, München. Es ist eine Vierzylinder-Zwillingstandem-Verbundmaschine mit Kolbenschiebersteuerung. Sie war bis zur Stilllegung der Maxhütte im September 2002 störungsfrei in Betrieb.
