Description
English: A story comes alive

Once upon a long time ago there was a handsome prince who went hunting with his men. In hot pursuit of a kill, the prince invariably lost track of time and place in this vast & dense forest. Upon realizing his folly, the prince lost no time in re-tracing his steps.

But he very soon realized that he was no match to the vastness of the land that lay in front of him. While the King was alerted and soldiers were dispatched to trace the heir to the kingdom, the prince wandered for many a days until luck finally turned in his favor. You see the prince encountered another human. The local did not know the prince as he was from another territory but the kind local helped the prince in finding his way back. The prince was so overjoyed that he decided to commemorate the kindness of the village local by building a monument at the very spot that he met the villager. This monument is called the Kator and resembles Scissors. This monument sits atop the highest hillock and overlooks a stunning carpet of green as far as the eye can see. Though what remains unanswered is why a scissor shaped monument? When was it actually built? And what happened to the prince? If you thought that this was the end of the story, well the real mystery begins…

It is said that a huge treasure of unknown measure remains buried under the very Kator monument and the right invocation of a sacred prayer splits wide open The Kator to reveal this treasure. Before you start wondering about the treasure, perhaps there is more to the story than what meets the ear. Is it a story of looking inside ourselves to find the true value and meaning and the richness that each of us holds within us? Perhaps so, especially as we seem to be seeking more from the outside world around us rather than reflecting about our very own selves. Whatever way you choose to end this story, perhaps a visit to the Kator monument will help you find your own richness in this story of long long time ago.

And what better way to explore The Kator and the many wonders of this village of flowers Assagao then with the son of the soil Felly Gomes. We have designed a 2 hour walk to showcase to you the rich heritage of Assagao; an eclectic amalgamation of Portuguese and Goan culture. On this Live Happy Experience, you will actually witness for yourself as the story of the lost prince come alive. You will encounter varieties of wild and local herbs, plants, fruits and birds over the next two hours. At the end of the walk you will know why Assagao is called Fulanchon gao (village of flowers).
