| Description |
English: Artist's impression of the yellow giant star HD 100655 (some zoom-in) above the scorched surface of hypothetical moon of the planet HD 100655 b (Sazum). The Sazum is a giant planet visible in the right part on the depiction. The orbital period around its giant star is 158 days, and the semimajor axis is 0.76 astronomical units (AU). The star has 2.2 solar masses and 8.8 solar diameters (~11,200,000 km). The surface temperature now exceeds 730 °C (1000 K) due to the high luminosity of the host star. In a few million years, this star will become a red giant and expand to more than 450 solar diameters (4.2 AU, ~630,000,000 km), destroying the planetary system.
