| Description |
English: HCVC Rally, 1977 This vehicle, owned by Southdown, is a typical bus of the late 1920s. It is a petrol-engined Leyland, and ran on the Portsmouth to Brighton route. It has pneumatic tyres, and on a nice day would carry about 48 people in reasonable comfort. But the next decade would see top-covered buses become increasingly popular, and diesel power would prove more economical than petrol. |
