Description
English: Reconstruction of the roof of the Demeter Temple, using the original fragments dating from around 530 BC. Plates of translucent marble laid off part of the sunlight that illuminates the inside of initiation as lactic cave temple, as the temple walls were pure white and deliberately only roughly shaped blocks. (The ceremony took place at dawn, perhaps.) Archaeological Museum of Demetrion in Gyroulas at Sangri, Naxos.
Čeština: Rekonstrukce části střechy Démétřina chrámu, s použitím původních fragmentů z doby kolem roku 530 před n. l. Desky z průsvitného mramoru propouštěly část slunečního světla, které osvětlovalo vnitřek zasvěcovacího chrámu jako mléčnou jeskyni, neboť zdi chrámu byly z čistě bílých a záměrně jenom hrubě opracovaných kvádrů. (Obřad se možná konal při úsvitu.) Archeologické muzeum Démétria v Gyroulas u Sangri, Naxos.
