The operator sits on a high stool and looks through the cysto-scope, which should be practically horizontal if the patient is in theproper position.8 114 THE URETHRA, BLADDER, AND URETERS If urine has collected in the superior portion of the bladder, orif it collects during the examination, it is to be removed by thebent tube introduced through the cystoscope, suction being appliedby means of the bulb and rubber tube attached to the tube in thebladder. The greatest care should be exercised to have the bulband tubes sterile, so that infection may not be introduced, and tothis end the bulb should be squeezed and held collapsed while thee
