Title |
Guy Miller Company dam and mill pond, Albion, Washington, circa 1900 |
|||||||||||||
Description |
The Guy Milling Company mill was powered by a water wheel with water drawn from this dam across the South Palouse River. A wooden flume carried the water to the mill which was located about half a mile upstream from town. Remains of the dam are still visible from the railroad trestle southeast of town. The mill prospered from 1898 to 1906, when it burned. Its "Miller's Best" flour won first prize at the St. Louis World's Fair in 1903. |
