Description
Français : Procédé de réduction directe inventé par Adolphus Frederick Gurlt. Le minerai de fer est enfourné dans la chambre B. Les chambres D servent à la gazéification du charbon (de bois?). Les entrées b-b amènent de l'air pour une post combustion destinée à augmenter la température du gaz réducteur. Ce type de four a été exploité en Espagne d'environ 1865 à 1884. Il est assez proche du four de Tourangin.
English: Direct reduction process invented by Adolphus Frederick Gurlt. The iron ore is charged un the chamber B. The chambers D make the daseification of (char?)coal. The b-b inlets bring air to induce a post-combustion, in order to increase the temperature of the reducing gas. This kind of furnace was used in Spain between about 1865 to 1884. It is pretty similar to Tourangin's furnace.
