English: Gunung Parang is a national forest mountain in Central Java.
Mount Parang is the site of intrusion, namely magma (volcanic material) which consists of liquid, incandescent, and heat from the bowels of the earth that penetrates to the surface but has frozen before it can emerge to the surface to become a volcano. This mountain can be said to be canceled as a volcano because it was formed only under the surface millions of years ago Over time, the soil above this intrusion was then eroded, giving rise to a hill depicting the process of forming the rocks that make up the earth's crust. Physically, the site of Mount Parang is seen forming stone pillars with columns. The rock is referred to as diabas stone which is characterized by white plagioclase mineral grains, which look like scattered rice. Gunung Parang adalah situs hasil intrusi, yaitu magma (bahan gunung berapi) yang terdiiri dari bahan cair, pijar, dan panas dari perut bumi yang menerobos menuju ke permukaan namun terlanjur membeku sebelum bisa muncul ke permukaan untuk menjadi gunung berapi. Gunung ini boleh dikatakan batal menjadi gunung api karena terbentuk hanya di bawah permukaan berjuta tahun silam Sejalan dengan waktu, tanah di atas intrusi ini kemudian tererosi sehingga memunculkan sebuah bukit yang mengggambarkan peristiwa proses pembentukan batuan penyusun kulit bumi ini. Secara fisik situs Gunung Parang terlihat membentuk tiang-tiang batu berkekar kolom. Batuannya disebut sebagai batu diabas yang dicirikan oleh butiran mineral plagioklas berwarna putih, terlihat seperti beras yang berserakan.
