Born & brought up in Calcutta.
Master degree in Urdu, Hindi literature . from Calcutta University.
Journalism from Suffee Commercial college.
Became a freelance Sports & Film Journalist in several newspaper in Calcutta in 90”s like, Akhbar e Mashriq , Azad Hind , Iqra & others.
Childhood goal to be a cricketer and footballer like every calcuttian . So he joined Mohammedan Sporting Club of Calcutta for training in both form of sports in 1980. After three years he joined Hindustan Lever Limited as an all round cricketer in 1983 being a teenager he played first Division match against George Telegraph . since he played seven years for his team and others. But he loves music badly since his childhood. His idol is in anchoring is Mr.Ameen Saiyani. And Mohd.Rafi as Singer. Apart from music He hosted Dramas & musical functions regularly in his college days. In 1993 He came to his native place Pipli , Odisha .. And started his music career as an anchor on stage with several orchestra groups. And the musical journey began .
He performed with several odia legends like Akhshay Mohanty, Pt.Raghunath Panigirahi, Sikander Alam, Pranab Pattanaik , Prafulla Kar , Jeetendra Haripal, Santanu Mohapatra etc..And with Bollywood artists like. Manna Dey , Mohd Aziz, Shabbir Kumar, Anuradha Paudwal, Pankaj Udhas, Anup Jalota, Vinod Rathod, Mohd Irfan , Jeetendra etc in Odisha as well as several part of the country like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Gurgaon, Jharkhand, Kolkata,Vizag, Bhopal, Raipur, Jaipur, Jodhpur , Nagpur, Katni, Ranchi Etc . and receiving several awards from there.
Now he is the first choice of Hindi & Urdu Musical Night , Mushairas & Kavi Samelans…And only Urdu anchor in Odisha who present shows his own style with lots of shayaris and Urdu poetries. And apart from anchoring he has started lyrics writing , rythm playing like Bongo, Conga ,Zumbe & started singing as well in recent years .
In 2012 He made documentary movie on Bollywood legend star Late Shammi Kapoor after some week of his death which was inaugurated by his son Aditya Raj Kapoor.. And the respond was superb from the Aditya Raj Kapoor As Well As The viewers …
On the basis of his research, he has a lot of knowledge about Bollywood films, hindi film songs of and about the cast and actors of the hindi movies. he has written numbers of articles about some legendary actors and the singers of Bollywood. A year before, Odia channel Tarang Music was running a show with old Bollywood songs called " Weekend Classic Show ", in which many different singers had presented the songs of Bollywood's legendary singers and he presented the show very beautiful and in his own unique style with fact and full of data .The show was being liked by audiences in India and also outside India.
On April 20 he got Chinta o Chetna national awards 2022 for culture, by the ministry of I & B and home affairs Govt. of India and was given by honorable Governor of Odisha His Excellency Prof. Ganeshi Lal ..
