| Description |
English: Gulley Wood and the upper Batt's Brook valley In the foreground is the newly (January 2004) planted Gulley Wood, on steep fields above the Batt's Brook valley. Below it, the mature wood is North Copse, which crosses the stream to cover the spur on the right, in SX8587.
The more distant view up the valley takes in the small woods running up its northern slopes. According to the 1:1250 map, these all comprise Widecombes Copse. At the head of the valley is the main Haldon ridge near Windy Corner. |
