English: Dr. Pothula Srinivasa Brahmanand, resident of Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India is the current Guinness World record Holder in the event of longest speech marathon. He has delivered an extempore speech on “Science and technology, society and human development” for 33 hours and 46 minutes at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar India during 8-9 September 20131. He has covered various sub topics such as concept of human development, human rights, spiritual concept of swami Vivekananda, World history, geography, economy, polity, zoology, botany, human systems, agriculture and contributions of ICAR to the society2. Dr. Brahmanand surpassed the previous record of 30 hours and 6 minutes in the name of Shri Madasamy of India. Dr. Brahmanand has been working as a Senior Scientist (Agronomy) with Directorate of Water Management (Indian Council of Agricultural Research), Bhubaneswar, India. He is also recipient of four national awards including Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Puraskar from Hon’ble President of India Shri Pranabh Mukherjee.
