Consequently thecharm inscribed on a heart scarab in-voked the gods of the underworld to dealleniently with the heart of the dead. Anexample inscribed on a scarab of greenfeldspar would read Oh ye gods who seize upon Hearts, and pluckout the whole Heart, and whose hands fashionanew the Heart of a person according to what hehath done, Lo now let that be forgiven to him byyou.
