English: Guardhouse, Bridge and moat - Tattershall Castle It is not certain that the guardhouse was ever completed though its function would have been to guard access to the bridge. Note the 'doorway' giving access to the moat. A boat ride around the castle might have been an alternative diversion from a walk in the grounds. |
