Summary
[edit]DescriptionGt Victoria Street bus depot, Belfast - geograph.org.uk - 1470458.jpg |
English: Gt Victoria Street bus depot, Belfast. Quite a big depot, most of it is hidden behind the sheds. It seems to have an allocation of about 140 buses from the Ulsterbus, Metro and Driving School fleets. Adjacent to what used to be the GNR(I)'s railway yard and Grosvenor Road goods yard.
According to a press release issued by the Department for Regional Development on 26 March 2010 "Transport Minister, Conor Murphy has welcomed the agreement between his Department, Translink and the Strategic Investment Board to explore the opportunities for a new 'Integrated Transport Hub' for bus and rail services. The Minister made the announcement during a speech at the 'Belfast City of Quarters' conference today. The proposal would utilise part of the extensive site at Grosvenor Road owned by Translink, together with the existing facilities at Glengall Street, which comprise the Europa Bus Centre and Great Victoria Street Train station."
