Description
English: Group photograph of Orientul, a literary circle founded by students of the Codreanu High School, Bârlad, Romania. Prominent members include Garabet Ibrăileanu, the future critic, journalist and literary theorist, and Raicu Ionescu-Rion, the socialist militant.

This photograph was taken on the day Orientul split: several older students, including Ionescu-Rion, were preparing to leave Bârlad.
