English: Photo from the United States Department of Agriculture Farmers’ Bulletin No. 1628 “Growing Black Locust Trees” with the following caption: “A valuable stand of tall straight black locust trees, age 27 years from time of planting, Bartholomew County, Ind. The trees range up to 14 inches breast-high diameter and 80 feet in height. Many of the trees will cut from 30 to 50 fence posts each, and a few 60 to 65 posts.” |
