Description
English: At the height of the Pacific War, the people of West Sumatra tried to demonstrate so that the Dutch turned over authority to the people instead of to the Japanese. The leaders of the movement Such as Chatib Sulaiman (sitting second front row from right) was arrested and held at Kuta Cane (Aceh). Standing at the back were former KNIL soldiers who were guarding them.
