Description
English: "Mar-a-Lago" (Spanish for "Sea to Lake") was the residence of Mrs. Marjorie Merriweather Post. It officially opened in January of 1927. In January 1969 the Department of the Interior designated the estate as "The Mar-a-Lago National Historic Site". L-R: George W. Traver (foreground), Congressman Rogers C.B. Morton (background), Mrs. George W. Traver, U.S. Senator Edward Gurney (partially visible in background), Gov. Claude Kirk, Paula Hawkins and Duke Crittenden at the far right.
