Summary
[edit]DescriptionGrosse-Lauter Karstquelle Offenhausen Schwaebische-Alb.jpg |
English: karst spring (yielding ca. 200-1500l/s) of the „Große Lauter“ (tributary of the Donau) at Offenhausen, Swabian Alb. The idyllic spring’s small lake is within the old walls of the former nunnery of the Dominican order. The monastery was given up and replaced with a stud farm already in 1600. Today the whole estate, the church (museum), the horse stable, various farm buildings belong to one of the three Marbach studs. The spring’s water, which drops by ca. 3 m behind the lake, runs into a small powerhouse, where electric power used to be generated. |
