Summary
[edit]DescriptionGrobšto cape and Sklandytojai dune (9617370090).jpg |
The green cape of Grobšto ragas in Russia and the dune of Sklandytojų kopa on the Lithuanian side of the border, seen from the top of the Parnidis dune near Nida in Neringa, Lithuania, on the Curonian Spit. Sklandytojų or Sklandytojai means "paraglider" and was named so because in 1933-39, when the dune was 70 meter high, it was used by the Nida paraglider school for test flights. Today, the dune is only 50 meters high. The blue waters of the Curonian lagoon can be seen extending out into the horizon. |
