| Description |
English: Grindlay Street Court pend Central Edinburgh has many pends, like the one pictured above, from the days of horse-drawn transport. Setts, as the rectangular cobbles are known, once covered the whole of central Edinburgh, but have now mostly disappeared. They could be notoriously treacherous for horses' hooves in bad weather. |
