Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Grey count larva (Tanaecia lepidea) at Vythiri forest in Wayanaad. The fine comb-like legs camouflage against the veins of the leaf when the caterpillar's body lies on the midrib of the leaf. This makes it very hard for predators to spot. Also, the brightly coloured spots act as false eyes to scare away predators.
