Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Grey's Monument, and the Newcastle Metro Grey's Monument is a monument to Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey built in 1838 in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It consists of a statue of Lord Grey standing atop a 41 m high column. This is a popular meeting place in the City and great for people watching, also a venue for political protests - as this photo was being taken there was a gathering of demonstrators underneath (photo to follow). The Monument Metro Station is just below the statue.
