Grenzstein in der Gemarkung Bad Frankenhausen im
Fürstentum Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt am Kyffhäuser
Die Im Norden Thüringens gelegene Stadt Bad Frankenhausen
war 1599-1918 Hauptort einer nördlichen Unterherrschaft
des Fürstentums Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt
mit der Residenz auf der Rudolstädter Heidecksburg.
Als Hoheitszeichen kann man im gesamten Herrschaftsgebiet
an den Grenzsteinen die “Schwarzburger Gabel”
finden, welche ein Arbeitsgerät der Berg- und Hüttenzunft
zur Gewinnung von Silbererz im Mittelalter symbolisiert.
Der Stein stand innerhalb der Flur vermutlich an der
Grenze zwischen fürstlichem und privatem Wald. Er
wurde auf einem Waldweg liegend aufgefunden und
konnte örtlich nicht mehr zugeordnet
werden. Der Fundort
befindet sich am Südhang des
Kyffhäusergebirges unweit der
Gedenkstätte “Panorama-Museum”
für den Deutschen Bauernkrieg 1525.
