Summary

[edit]
Description

Greenfinches are colourful visitors to our gardens - ours visit alongside a large flock of Goldfinches.

Sadly the UK population had a dramatic decline during the late 1970s and early 1980s but thankfully made a slight recovery during the 1990s however another recent decline in numbers has been linked to an outbreak of trichomonosis which is a parasite-induced disease that prevents the birds from feeding properly. So it is important when feeding our garden visitors that we regularly clean & disinfect our feeders.
