| Description |
Greenbank signal box's limit of shunt indicator on the Up Mainline at Chester end of Manchester bound platform at Greenbank station. Saturday 2nd August 2008 Greenbank signal box is located by the Up Main line east of Greenbank station, and is a British Railways London Midland Region Type 15 design which was built by June 1974, the operating floor structure having built using parts moved from Chester No1 signalbox. It was opened on 21st December 1975 fitted with a British Railways London Midland Region entrance-exit panel replacing Greenbank, Hartford East Junction and Hartford North signal boxes. The panel was was replaced on 27th January 1980 by a British Railways London Midland Region entrance-exit panel on 27th January 1980. The new panel being installed to allow Greenbank to take control of the Northwich area from 30th March 1980 box, and the signal box was refurbished and rewindowed with uPVC cladding and windows in 2004 |
