Description
English: Linha verde na imagem CBERS4 mostra intensa floração de algas na borda da pluma do Rio Amazonas no Oceano Atlântico Tropical, 200 km offshore do Cabo Orange, Amapá. Segundo o Oceanógrafo Milton Kampel, da @dsr.inpe, provavelmente "Trichodesmium spp.", alga flutuante que forma verdadeiros tapetes na superfície do mar e tem sido encontrada em estudos científicos na região / Green line spotted in the Atlantic Ocean, offshore Amapa, indicating an algal bloom at Amazon River nutrient loaded plume border. According to @dsr.inpe Oceanographer Milton Kampel it´s probably "Trichodesmium spp.", a floating algae that forms a scum that looks like a floating carpet and has been reported in the region.
