Description
English: Greek War of Independence flag with the symbols of Philiki Etaireia. Flags made upon the outbreak of the Greek Revolution under the instructions of the Archbishop Palaion Patron Germanos. It was raised in Elis by the notable Georgios Sisinis. Its main symbols are the cross and the motto "Freedom or Death." Accession Number: 4148. National Historical Museum, Athens, Greece. Text: Museum inscription.
