The exhibition is admirably well balanced.The glories of ancient Greece have not blindedthe society to the fact that it exists primarilyto interest the public in Greece as it is today.The photographs are in themselves sufficientto kindle interest in the heart of Americans. The Stymphalian Lake, famous as thehome of the man-eating birds destroyed byHercules, and now to be used as the watersupply for Athens, is one of the most interest-ing pictures in the exhibition. Side by sidewith Acheron, the stream of sighs and thespring of Peirene, which gushed forth at thestroke of Pegasuss hoof, the society has as-sembled a collection of modern Greek textiles. 40
