Summary
[edit]DescriptionGreat Western main line west of Tilehurst - geograph.org.uk - 611106.jpg |
English: Great Western main line west of Tilehurst station, looking towards Purley. The fast lines are on the left. The train is an Oxford to London service on the up slow line. Despite the curves this is Brunel's billiard table route, virtually flat through some constrained terrain in the Thames valley and since 1975 operating High Speed Trains at 125mph. The space created by Brunel for his broad gauge can still be seen. |
