Summary
[edit]DescriptionGreat Migration in Kogatende, Serengeti by Tanzania GET Safaris.jpg |
English: Nature's masterpiece is that every year the plains of East Africa are home to the world's greatest wildlife spectacles movement, whereby more than 1.4 million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebra and gazelle move from one place of Tanzania to Kenya in search of good food, water and breading grounds. This great migration is often described as a set circuit that occurs between Tanzania's Serengeti plains in the south and Kenya's Maasai Mara in the north, but the reality of the migration is much more complex.
It is surprising that the animals go forward, backwards, and to the sides, they mill around, they split up, they join forces again, they walk in a line, they spread out, or they hang around together, they get killed, they jump long and deep water bodies and they die out of starvation. You can never predict with certainty where they will be; the best you can do is suggest likely timing based on past experience. The Great Migration is the greatest show on earth, with a natural spectacular behavior like no other and a life-changing experience.
