DescriptionGreat Meadows National Wildlife Refuge, birdwatchers.jpg |
English: Birdwatchers in Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge, near Concord, Massachusetts, USA. – Great Meadows in Concord is a wildlife sanctuary that gets numerous avian visitors. Today there was a group of white egrets feeding, as well as several great blue herons. The weather was gorgeous – sunny but not hot or humid – and many people were out and about early. There was a general feeling of goodwill among these people, who shared information about where to see various birds. One guy even told us where to find a gargantuan multi-bodied cattail. We passed one photographer who was carrying a camera with a very long lens. "What size?" we asked. "Not big enough," he said ruefully. |
