| Description |
English: Great Malvern Post Office On the corner of Abbey Road and Church Street. on the site of the old vicarage which itself stood on the site of the parish church of St Thomas'. The latter became redundant when the tiny village bought the magnificent Priory Church for £20 after the dissolution of the monasteries. The Post Office together with its mail sorting room occupy an amalgamation of three buildings. The 1936 public entrance (on the right) was built onto the older Victorian shop. There has been much talk of the sorting office moving away from the town centre altogether and the post office moving to another premises. If so we might see this site redeveloped in the next few years or so - watch this space! |
