Back view of the gravestone of Thomas Holroyd (1821–1904). Holroyd was a portrait and landscape painter from Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England. The gravestone is in Grove Road Cemetery, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England, in plot C 836. The high quality of the carving and polish on the monument suggests that it may have been sculpted by Holroyd's colleague William John Seward Webber (1842–1919). The figured marble makes the inscription almost illegible in the photographs. It says something like: |
